One other thing I try to do whenever possible is book an extra day or two off after the conference where I don’t have to interact with anyone else. Ideally a day away from home or I’ll just wind up cleaning and checking email. Maybe at extra day at the hotel so I can wander on my own and explore the city, or at a local retreat center. (I’m a monastery junkie.)
