Book Idea Clarity Session
Best for: “I have a book idea, but I’m not sure if it’s strong enough.”

Is your book idea worth pursuing?
Find out before you spend months writing, revising, or pitching.
You have an idea for a book, but you’re not sure if it’s strong enough, clear enough, marketable enough, or ready to become a full book.
The Book Idea Clarity Session is a one-on-one coaching session designed to help you evaluate your book idea before you spend months writing, revising, or pitching it.
We’ll look at the heart of your idea, who the book is for, what makes it compelling, and what may need to be sharpened, and whether you have the platform to make it work. You’ll get honest, practical feedback from a literary agent’s perspective, along with guidance on your best next step.
You do not need a finished manuscript or proposal for this session. In fact, this is best before you’ve done all that work.
You’ll leave with an understanding of whether your idea has book potential, what’s strongest about the concept, what needs more development, and what your next step should be.
You may also come away realizing the idea needs to change shape. Much better to find out now than after you’ve written 70,000 words in the wrong direction.
Before we meet, you’ll send a short description of your book idea, your working title, your intended reader, and any questions or concerns you want to discuss.
What this session is not
This is not a guarantee that your book will be published. It is not a promise of representation by Gardner Literary. It is not a full editorial review, proposal review, or manuscript evaluation. This is an early-stage strategy session to help you think clearly and make a smart decision about your book idea.
