I Need a Favor*
*And you could win a prize.
Hey faithful readers, first I want to let you know how much I appreciate you visiting here, and I love the great conversations we have in the comments!
I’m still trying to make the transition from the old blog to the new one complete. So here are a couple of ways you could help me.
1. If you’re reading this in a reader, first go to my actual blog at http://rachellegardner.flywheelsites.com.
2. Look in the sidebar. See where it says “Join this Site with Google Friend Connect”? Please click to join! I’m trying to get back up to the number of followers I had before… but it’s slow going.
3. If you’re following an RSS feed of my old blog, please manually delete http://cba-ramblings.blogspot.com and replace it with http://rachellegardner.flywheelsites.com.
4. If you have my old blog in your Google reader (or other reader), please manually delete http://cba-ramblings.blogspot.com and replace it with http://rachellegardner.flywheelsites.com.
5. Go to my agent page on Facebook and click LIKE. http://www.facebook.com/agent.rachelle
The prize?
I will use www.random.org to randomly draw one name from my Facebook followers, and another from my Google Friends.
Both winners can choose between a $20 Amazon gift card OR a query-critique and 20-minute phone call with yours truly.
Deadline for the prize is Sunday at 5pm eastern.
Aw, this was a really nice post. In idea I wish to put in writing like this moreover – taking time and actual effort to make an excellent article… however what can I say… I procrastinate alot and under no circumstances seem to get one thing done.
We are a group of volunteers and opening a new scheme in our community. Your web site offered us with valuable info to work on. You’ve done a formidable job and our whole community will be grateful to you.

Wonderful blog post, saw on…
you are in reality a good webmaster. The website loading speed is amazing. It sort of feels that you’re doing any distinctive trick. In addition, The contents are masterpiece. you have done a magnificent activity on this matter!
As soon as I noticed this website I went on reddit to share some of the love with them.
I truly appreciate this post. I’ve been looking everywhere for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You’ve made my day! Thank you again!
I’m super sad I missed this prize, but I’m still going to google friend and facebook like you. I love this blog.
Not super technical, but I think I did it right. : )
I’m liked and googled up. 😀
Following you on fb, and gfc. Already subscribed. Looks like we’re good. 🙂
I like you on facebook, and follow you through google! Thanks!
Got it! And this reminded me that I needed to change your link on my blogroll, too. I hadn’t even thought of that. Yikes! 🙂
Hi Rachelle,
Thank you for always providing such valuable info week after week. So appreciated.
When you first started your new blog, I previously signed up and liked your fb page. My problem (not that it’s a PROBLEM!, just a question really) is this – now each of your blogposts shows up twice in my blogroll. But you are only listed once in the Reading List. I just don’t know how to delete the old blog URL.
Susan
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Rachelle! I follow your blog by email delivery, so I didn’t even know that my Google Friend link was no longer good. I wouldn’t miss your blog and FB page posts for the world. Blessings!
Done! Love your blog!
Hi Rachelle,
I already subscribe by email and eagerly await each post. Your blog is one of the best in the industry.
By the way, I ‘met’ one of your clients (Jody Hedlund) on Twitter, saw her blog and bought her book. “Preacher’s Bride” is a delight! I’ll be reviewing it soon.
Best of luck with the transition!
Already done. Hope I still qualify!
Ok, this is a question on sharing from your new blog, but I decided to try to send my first Google+ share using this post. But on the expanded share doohickey (can you tell I’ve got this techno babble down?) I see google buzz, but no google +1. Am I missing it somewhere or is it just not available?
hey hey, I figured it out. BUT now the new need is how to you delete your comment post when you post something that makes you look like a techno idiot? Not saying that I’m not, just would like to hide the fact for a little bit longer by erasing my post up there! 🙂
Ok, so I don’t have the answer to either of these like I thought I did. I thought I’d figured out the +1 thing by logging in under my other name, but I’m guessing this is wordpress and there isn’t one available? Yeah–still a techno idiot :), so I won’t be replying to myself anymore here to try and keep from dinging my own techno intelligent facade, but would like to see a +1 button added if it’s not here somewhere and I’m missing it, and is there a way to delete your own comment or no?
Now I’ve gone and signed up a whole bunch of times while, unsuccessfully trying to get my picture up. Sorry. Do love your blog, though, and have for a long time.
I’m already following the new blog and I’ve updated you on my sidebar. 🙂
You got it! You’ll be there in no time.
Ack! Just came back to look around and forgot to say I have already liked your page. 🙂
Thanks!
must follow!
like your new look =)
Looks nice! I’m in the middle of revamping my blog and website so I feel your pain!
I’d updated my reader when you first switched but now I’m following via GFC too. And I already follow you on FB.
I moved websites a couple of weeks ago and it’s tough to get everyone moved over with you. Maybe I should run a contest too!
All done! Love your blogs 🙂
Thanks Rachelle!
Number 1,168 on FB loves the 20 minute phone call prize-very generous.
I think I switched and fixed everything. 🙂 I love the prize options!
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Forget Amazon, I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE (I know, I know-way too many capitals but I swear I’m just excited and not yelling at you), a critique and phone call. 🙂 Yowza-what an awesome prize!
I “like” you on Facebook, Twitter, and I would love to subscribe to the blog feed but when your name appears in my inbox, I think it’s a response to my query and it psyches me out. 🙂 I can give you a shout-out on my website and author FB page. Small potatoes, I know but I’ll still do it.
Thanks, Rachelle!

Done. I think I re-signed up for your site (Google friend connect) a few days ago. And I just “liked” your agent page. I don’t comment often, but I’m learning a lot by reading your blogs. Thanks for sharing your wisdom with aspiring writers. This one appreciates it!
I haven’t been here in a while since I’ve been so busy of late so I didn’t realize your blog had changed and you had to re-establish your followers. What a pain! But I guess it does update things for you to give you a fresh followers list.
In any case, I’ve clicked both the Friend Connect button and Liked you on FaceBook. I need to go back now and catch up on some of the posts I’ve missed.

Tossing It Out
Done.
I’ve been watching this blog for a long time. It’s a great resource and a great community! 🙂 Thanks for the effort you put into it.
Happy Friday!!
Done. Actually, your new web name changed itself on my blog and I followed you on Facebook, too. Thanks and fingers crossed…
GoogleFriended- finally. I think I may have just joined the 21st century.
Don’t do Facebook, even with the attractive reward. My students infest Facebook like cockroaches, but I did the Google Friends!
Hi Rachelle!
I’ve actually already switched my pages in my Google reader and have joined the Google connect site here too. I visit often, but don’t always comment, but I ALWAYS appreciate the posts. 🙂
Love the updated look and will always follow as long as you continue to write and share. Thanks, Rachelle!
Both have been done!
Done! Except the google friend connect part. It’s not even 8AM over here and getting code for that to work on my difficult blog is too much for me before coffee. But liked your fb and changed my feed. 🙂
Joined! (I thought I already had, but apparently not.) I also get the new feed to my feed reader (in my blogger dashboard) and follow on FB. Thanks for this opportunity! I’m praying I win, as I used your post yesterday to brush up my elevator pitch. 🙂
Aha! That’s why I was getting duplicates of your posts…done!
done 🙂
Dang. I thought I was already a follower through Google Connect, but since it just added my picture, I guess I wasn’t. Sorry about that. Well, at least it’s fixed now. =o)
DONE!
Id like to invite everyone to read a blog post today of a woman who joined the old order Mennonite church from the outside. I’m extremely lucky in publishing her very first, and most likely last post on Amish Stories. A lot of work was involved in her getting permission to be even able to write anything on the internet, and permission was given by her bishop. So please stop by and read about a woman who gave-up her car and other worldly possessions for the person that she loved. Richard from Amish Stories.
Done on both.
I’m in! Up to 400 now on the google followers. I do need to delete your old page from my feed, and will do that now.
I don’t see the Google Friend Connect, but I’m looking. Not because I want the prize, but because I’m about to switch my website from WordPress hosted to self-hosted and am afraid I’ll lose my 4 subscribers in a similar fashion (it’s a small following, but I’ve only been at it a few months).
While I’m pretty sure I did it when you switched sites, I’ll just re-subscribe to make sure.
I’ve already “liked” you on FB, and I think I’m your Google friend…I’ll check now. I love your blogs!
done! have the BEST day!!!
Done.
Thanks for the heads up. Like many others, I didn’t realize Google Reader moved me to the new site. I’ve clicked join and am very excited about your offered prizes. Whoever wins is in for a treat!
Done. I love your posts.
Your posts continued to show up in my Google Reader, so I wasn’t aware I wasn’t following you (that the GFC feature didn’t transfer over to the new site). But I’ve done so now! 🙂
Okay – so I’m a little slow.
I have two Rachelle Gardner’s in my Google Friend connect. One says Rachelle Gardner and the other says Rachelle Gardner, Literary Agent. I click on both and they lead me to here. So how do I figure out which one to delete?
Already a fan on Facebook but friend number 375
I also now Like you on Facebook….
I already follow. Am I in the contest? 🙂
Well, I’m a follower here on the site, but I don’t do facebook, I’m afraid.
I’d so like to win the critique, but even if I don’t, I get so much valuable information from you on a daily basis. And for that I am truly grateful!
I so want to win the prize (the good one, not the cash equivalent–the one that’s better than cash.)
But my Google friend connect sidebar (I guess that’s the one with the pictures), together with subsequent clicks, is coming up in Arabic. So I’m lost.
Because I’m surfing in Egypt, a lot of my internet stuff translates from English to Arabic, and then back into English. But sometimes phase II doesn’t happen. Go figure.
Oh well. I wouldn’t win anyway.
I tried to rejoin using Friend Connect, but it wouldn’t let me, so I’m on using the RSS feed. It’s been one of those days. 😉
Done 🙂 I didn’t realize that though your new site shows up on my blogger dashboard, I wasn’t considered a follower over here.
Hello Rachelle, Very posh around here these days, well done for the new look.
I am back from a long charity event, working hard at my writing, and reading your posts with great pleasure. (5am English time every morning) You win my prize for being the most diligent blogger.
Good job.
Well done.
Sorry, no facebook or google friends here.
That’s weird. It still showed up in my Blogger Dashboard, but I wasn’t considered to be following this site. Oh well, it’s fixed now. 334!
I have been following for a while already, but I did the changes and I am now number 323 🙂 I don’t need a prize, but considering you are a gifted writer, I would love the follow back and some occasional constructive criticism. I get tired of people telling me that my work is “great” or “amazing”. That sounds egotistical, I am sure, but what I mean is–I would love to know how to improve. Thanks! And, I hope you get your numbers up 🙂
With pleasure, Rachelle. I just became your 313 on Google and 1,561 on Facebook. The second prize will be superb, but just considering my next query will be enough. My contemporary commercial women’s fiction is now at 75K words (passing your minimum, at last) and is under major overhall for substantive editing. The query will be ready only when it is the best that it can be (in about September).
And now, feel free to ask for more favors. Best wishes to you and your family.
I’ve been Liking your Facebook page for a while and already changed the subscription in my reader… so I’m feeling kind of efficient here. And you’re welcome to see my mugshot peeping out of all those other smiling faces.
I’m always trying to encourage my own blog readers to follow my blog publicly – not because I care about numbers, but the sight of all those faces makes me realize I’m truly writing for an audience. Other than commenting, it’s probably the most encouraging thing readers can do for a blogger. Enjoy watching all those new faces appear!
