Attention Fantasy/Sci Fi Writers

Okay, I know you think I hate you just because you write about zombies and martians and the apocalypse. I don’t hate anyone, I swear! And to prove it, I have a special gift today just for you. It’s a blog I found out about: “The Spectacle,” on which “Authors talk about writing speculative fiction for teens and pre-teens.”

Check it out.

See? I care about you, I really do.

    >I was hoping you would represent my new book entitled My Father is an Alien (from Canada) and my mother is a Zombie (Really!) It’s one of the best books ever written and would make a great movie…and it takes place during the apocalypse! Watch your inbox for my query letter.

    >Who doesn’t love zombies and Martians?

Laura, we have an interview on The Spec with agent Jennifer Mattson, who discusses magic realism.

    Thanks for the mention.

    >You know what, after I wrote that, I read your “what I want” blog and see that you differentiate fantasy and sci-fi with supernatural and you do take supernatural.

    So, yay!

Fantasy I’m guessing is more elves and kings, etc.

  18. Laura on April 25, 2009 at 10:08 AM

    >question: I’m always seeing agents that would rather not read sci-fi/fantasy, and I was wondering if magic realism falls into that category as well. Things like ghosts, etc.
